Five years ago I lost my daughter to foster care and 2 years later I lost my other daughter to foster care as well.
You may be asking yourself how I managed to lose only one child at a time...it makes no sense. Well, you are right, it makes no sense. A bit of detail might help.
I lost my oldest daughter to foster care, but not any foster care, she was placed with her father and his (then) new wife of only 2 weeks. I saw her only once after that, a year later...never again.
Then I lost my other daughter, whose father I never married. She was placed with her paternal grandparents.
Several irregularities surfaced, but was ignored.
I was heartbroken and felt lost. My children meant the world to me.
Three years ago, I started working on this website after I only had a blog (link) where I used to post about my daily battle with social workers and the authorities.
I began doing research after losing my two beautiful little girls and found bits and pieces of information all over the internet. I also realized that my experiences had names. Slowly but surely I gathered information and thought to myself how much easier it would have been for me if I could access all of it in one place. I also realized that the support that were available for parents in South Africa that was going through this, was focused on fathers. Fathers who ended up hating women and who thought they were better parents than any woman could ever be. That was when I started this site.
Through the years, I have learned so much. I guided people and shared my knowledge and I will continue to do so. I periodically take breaks because it becomes emotionally draining for me to work on this site.
One positive thing came from it as I now have full access at any time with my youngest daughter and I have a wonderful relationship with her grandparents. I have proven to myself and to others that Parental Alienation can be overcome in certain cases.
I will continue working on this site and acting as an activist against this cruel form of child abuse for my oldest daughter's sake. I want her to one day know about the positive things that could come from this negative situation.
If you are a South African, and you need help regarding any organization like the Dept of Social Development, the CMR, the ACVV, or SAVF - I have experience with all of them, as well as with private social workers and I am more than willing to share my experience with them and guide you if possible.
This site is not only aimed at South Africans though, I put together the information that I thought is of importance in most of these type of cases and I hope it helps
